Back to basics with Turbo Stove
A sheet metal turbo stove designed
in Lapland will soon be a hot
item in developing countries and on
various aid organisations´shopping lists.
A product of the company hatchery
in Rovaniemi, it won one of the six gold
medals at the Eureka Bryssels World
Exhibition of Innovations last November
and was also awarded a OSCAR DU PUBLIC.
All in all, 1200 innovations from

The stove has two innovative features
that make it both economically and economically
sustainable. Its inventor Tapio Niemi
describes it as a "high-tech solution
from a promitive starting point".
The stove can be assembled in 15 minutes
without tools. It is light and easy to store
and transport, which means that large numbers
can be quickly brought into areas
struck by natural disasters. Its simple
basic design means that it is also
inexpensive to buy and operate.
The stove uses virtually any kind of
solid fuel in addition to wood:
peanut shells, maize husks, strw
and animal dung. Thanks to its innovative
technical design, the stove burns fuel
more efficiently than tradional types and
emits less smoke and other pollitants.
International aid organisations have
expressed keen interest in the new
innovation and it is
to be tested in practise by the International
Red cress in refugee camps in Tanzania.
